Gear I actually use
People ask what pan that is or which snips I used in a video. This is the list. Nothing here is sponsored placement. If I stopped using something, it comes off the page.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy through them I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only list gear I actually own and use. It helps keep the plans free.
Panning basics
The stuff that rides in the bucket on every trip.
14" Gold Pan with Riffles
The pan I learned on and still reach for. Dual riffles make it forgiving for beginners.
Green plastic shows fine gold better than black in shade.
Snuffer Bottle, 4 oz
Sucks up fine gold from the pan. Fits the 3D-printed belt holster on this site.
1/4" Bucket Classifier
If you only buy one classifier, this is the size. Sits on a five-gallon bucket.
Tools for the builds
What I use to make the plans on this site.
Aviation Tin Snips, 3-piece set
Left, right, and straight cut. Needed for every sheet metal sluice here.
Pop Rivet Gun with Assorted Rivets
Cheap, and it has never let me down. Get extra 1/8" aluminum rivets.
PETG Filament, 1 kg
My default for anything that lives in water and sun. Prints easy once dialled in.
PLA gets brittle in the cold and warps in a hot truck.
