What you get
A set of classifier rings that snap into each other and sit on the rim of a five-gallon bucket. Coarse on top, fine on the bottom. Shake the stack and the material sorts itself.
Two ways to build it
Printed mesh. The quarter and eighth inch rings have the mesh printed straight into them. Fastest option and surprisingly durable.
Stainless mesh. For the 1/20" screen, printed mesh gets fragile. Print the 1/8" ring, then cut a disc of stainless mesh slightly oversized and hot glue it over the printed mesh.
Printing
Print each ring flat. No supports are needed. If the mesh side has stringing, drop your nozzle temperature by five degrees and turn on retraction.
In use
- Wet the material first. Dry dirt clogs the fine mesh.
- Give the stack a swirl, not a shake. It moves material through faster and wears the mesh less.
- The rings are tight when new. They loosen a little after a few uses.
